RTP tube furnace is heated by halogen light around the processing tube with a max. heating rate of max. 300°C/min. 30 segment precision temperature controller with +/-1ºC accuracy is built into the furnace to allow for heating, dwelling, and cooling at various steps.
For a better comparison of furnace and RTP annealing, a furnace experiment with the highest possible heating up rate was performed. For that, the furnace was preheated to 1000°C and then the quartz tube was put in the furnace. With this step, the furnace cooled down to 900°C. After 10 min, 1000°C was reached again and held for 3 min.
